The CSS works collaboratively with the Special Education Teacher to fulfill the curricular and behavioral needs of the students.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
• Work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Implement appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques.
• Assist, monitor and guide students.
• Record data to assist students with development of independent skills outlined in the IEP through the use of positive behavior plans and systems within all settings. 

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalency plus six months experience working with children with behavioral/learning disorders; OR
• A four year degree from a college or university with PA Public School Teaching Certificate.

Custodian

New Story is seeking a FULL-TIME Custodian to work in our Wyoming location. 35 Hours per week; Afternoon and Evening hours; Hours are flexible.

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining building in a clean and orderly condition. This position is primarily responsible for performing cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpet, washing walls and glass, removing trash, etc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Clean lavatory basins, inside/outside surrounds of sinks.
•Clean traps/fill drain traps.
•Refill toilet paper, paper towel and soap dispensers.
•Wipe tiles, polish mirrors, empty trash cans and clean and mop floors in all restrooms.
•Vacuum carpet throughout building (spot clean where necessary).
•Sweep/vacuum and damp mop all hard flooring.
•Damp dust furniture/desks, dust and damp wipe fixtures & fittings (skirting, pipes, window ledges).
•Empty trash, remove marks from glass, doors and walls, clean telephones in all classrooms, group rooms, staff rooms, offices, meeting rooms and library
•Wash/clean outdoor building surfaces such as windows, frames, doors, sidewalks, asphalt, etc.
•Keep grounds/parking lot free from trash, leaves and debris.
•Empty outside trash containers and cigarette receptacles.
•Sweep, shovel and salt building entrances/exits.
•Salt slippery areas of parking lot, sidewalks and stoops when necessary.
•Assess and report any unsafe conditions.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 years’ experience providing custodial/cleaning services.

Special Education Teacher

New Story is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the positions of Special Education Teacher in our Wyoming School
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing, maintaining and documenting all instructional and behavioral programs within the school setting. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing classroom dynamics and functioning of all staff within their classroom.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Completing the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process
Development of lesson plans which include sufficient planning of activities to keep students actively engaged in learning. Lesson plans should be tailored to meet the individual needs of students based on IEP goal and objectives.
Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop/design and implement appropriate services.
• Provide appropriate guidance, leadership and direction to staff within the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include:
PA Public School Special Education Teaching Certificate; OR
• Private Academic Teaching Certificate; OR
• Private Academic Temporary Approval Certificate
•Minimum of 6 months experience working with children with behavior/learning disorders

Behavior Specialist Consultant - Wyoming/Throop

New Story is currently seeking to fill the position of Part-Time BSC to work in our Wyoming/Throop locations.
The BSC is a lead member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the implementation of therapeutic skills acquisition and behavioral modification protocols. The BSC is responsible for the development of an individualized treatment plan and monitoring progress for assigned clients in partnership with family members, Mobile Therapists and Therapeutic Staff Support. The BSC provided clinical supervision to TSS. This position is required to work hours that coincide with client schedules, including day, evening and/or weekend hours.

The Behavior Specialist Consultant is primarily responsible for:
Develop individualized treatment plans based upon assessments and input from others involved with the child.
• Schedule and conduct consultations with the child and/or family using the treatment plan as a guide.
• Revise treatment plan based on assessment of treatment protocols, observation and other related data collected.
• Provide clinical group supervision to Therapeutic Staff Support as scheduled on a weekly basis.

Qualifications for the position include:
• Licensed Doctoral Level Psychologist; OR
• Licensed clinical Psychologist; OR
• Other Master’s level mental health clinician with documented training in the field of behavioral modification techniques or supervised by A or B above.
• BSC Licensure
• Previous experience working with children and families in the implementation of therapeutic skills acquisition and behavior change protocols.

Nurse - Wyoming

New Story is currently seeking to fill the position of Part-Time  Nurse in our Wyoming/Throop and Berwick Schools.

The Nurse is responsible for overseeing and implementing the health program in the school program.  He/she is responsible for the delivery of health services including the medication management program and advocating for the health rights of children.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide first aid care as needed and document appropriately.
  • Manage medical emergencies and communicate with family members, emergency medical personnel and/or the child’s physician regarding the event of the medical emergency
  • Collect and ensure medical history, physical exams and vaccinations are current for all students.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor the effectiveness of the medication.
  • Ensure medications are stored and secured.

Minimum qualifications for the position include:

  • Current licensure by the Commonwealth of PA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of one years’ experience providing nursing services to children.
