Shannon McLaughlin is the Director of Education for the New Story Wyoming School. She has 19 years of experience in special education, autistic support and emotional support settings.
Shannon earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from Misericordia University, and she began her career as a Special Education teacher in 2003.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, theater, and being a soccer mom. She also likes spending time with family and camping whenever she can.

Keriann Balucha is an Assistant Education Director at the New Story Wyoming School. She has more than 11 years of experience in her field. Keriann began her career at New Story as the Assistant Education Director in 2015.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wilkes University and her master’s degree in special education from the University of Scranton.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, watching TV and learning a variety of new things.

Jessica Collins, Assistant Education Director

Jessica Collins is an Assistant Education Director at the New Story Wyoming School. She started with New Story in 2010 as an Emotional Support teacher, became the Special Education Coordinator in 2016 and was promoted to Assistant Education Director in 2017.
Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University and her master’s degree in special education from the University of Phoenix.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys reading, listening to music, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with her family traveling.

Michelle Cummings, Clinical Director

Michelle Cummings is the Clinical Director for the New Story Wyoming School. She has 15 years of experience, and started with New Story in 2012.
Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Bonaventure University, her master’s in counseling and human services from Lehigh University. She also obtained certification in applied behavior analysis and Board Certified Behavior Analyst from the Florida Institute of Technology.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with family, playing games, completing puzzles, and traveling.

Casey Laskaris, Clinical Supervisor

Casey Laskaris is the Clinical Supervisor for the New Story Wyoming School. She has more than 10 years of experience in the field. Casey began her career with New Story in 2005 as a Therapeutic Support Staff Member. In 2009, she became a Behavior Specialist Consultant in the Behavior Health Program. Soon after, Casey was promoted to the Behavioral Consultant position. In August of 2016, Casey became the Clinical Supervisor.
Casey earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wilkes University and her master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood University. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Nicole Pinterich, Regional Director of Education

Nicole M. Pinterich is the Regional Education Director for New Story’s Northeast Region. She has 25 years of experience in her field. Nicole started with New Story in 2005 as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant and was promoted to Education Director soon after.
Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in childhood and elementary education and her master’s degree in special education and exceptionalities, both from Bloomsburg University.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys reading, spending time with my family, and traveling.

Beverly Strunk, Regional Clinical Director

Beverly Strunk, Ph.D, BCBA, LBS, is the Regional Clinical Director for New Story’s Northeast Region. Beverly has 15 years of experience in her field. Beverly is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Specialist, and has expertise in the areas of community-based mental health services, staff development, program growth and expansion.
She started with New Story in 2004 as the Behavioral Specialist Consultant and was then promoted to Clinical Director in 2009, and Director of Operations in 2012. Beverly earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from King’s College, her master’s degree in counselor education from Marywood University and her Ph.D. in human development from Marywood University.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, biking, hiking and skiing. She is also interested in reading, traveling and photography. Beverly also spends time supporting S.A.F.E. (Supporting Autism and Families Everywhere); Autism Coalition of Luzerne County; Pastoral Council, St. Jude Parish in Mountaintop; Social Action Committee and St. Jude Parish in Mountaintop.
